HAIR RESTORATION & SCALP HEALTH

Hair loss isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your treatment shouldn’t be either.

Thinning hair, excessive shedding, a widening part, receding hairline, or changes in hair density can happen for many different reasons. Hormones, genetics, stress, nutrition, medications, illness, inflammation, aging, and scalp health can all play a role.

At Forge Cellular Medicine, our approach goes beyond recommending a single product. We look for factors that may be contributing to your hair loss and build a personalized treatment plan designed to support healthier hair and scalp function.

Depending on your needs, your plan may include lab testing, prescription medications, targeted supplements, PRP, microneedling, peptide-based therapies, and professional at-home hair and scalp products.

WHY AM I LOSING MY HAIR?

Hair loss can look similar on the surface while having very different underlying causes. Identifying the pattern and possible contributing factors helps us determine which treatments may be appropriate.

Androgenetic Alopecia

Often called male- or female-pattern hair loss, this is one of the most common forms of progressive hair thinning. Genetics and sensitivity to androgens such as DHT can contribute to gradual miniaturization of the hair follicle.

Women may notice a widening part or decreased density through the crown, while men commonly experience recession at the temples, thinning through the crown, or both.

Telogen Effluvium

This type of hair shedding can occur when a larger-than-normal number of hairs enter the resting phase of the hair-growth cycle.

Potential triggers include significant stress, illness, surgery, rapid weight loss, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal changes, pregnancy/postpartum changes, and certain medications.

Hormonal Hair Loss

Changes in estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, thyroid hormones, and other hormonal factors can affect the hair-growth cycle.

Hair changes are especially common during perimenopause and menopause, postpartum periods, and in people experiencing thyroid or other hormonal concerns.

Nutritional & Metabolic Factors

Hair follicles require adequate nutrients to function normally. Low iron stores and certain nutritional deficiencies or inadequate protein intake may contribute to shedding or poor hair quality in some patients.

Inflammatory & Scalp Conditions

Inflammation, dermatitis, excessive buildup, and certain scalp disorders can interfere with the environment surrounding the hair follicle.

Some forms of hair loss require evaluation and treatment by a dermatologist. If we see signs of a condition that falls outside our scope or may cause permanent follicle damage, we may recommend dermatology evaluation.

OUR HAIR RESTORATION APPROACH

Instead of automatically putting everyone on the same treatment, we can combine multiple strategies based on your history, examination, laboratory results, hair-loss pattern, goals, and medical appropriateness.

Comprehensive Hair-Loss Labs

Sometimes the first step is looking deeper.

When appropriate, laboratory testing may be used to evaluate factors associated with hair health, such as:

• Thyroid function

• Iron and ferritin

• CBC

• Vitamin D

• Vitamin B12 and folate

• Hormonal markers

• Metabolic markers

• Additional testing based on symptoms and medical history

Testing is individualized. Not every patient needs every laboratory test.

Treatments

PRP HAIR RESTORATION

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) uses a concentrated portion of your own blood containing platelets and growth factors.

After your blood is drawn and processed, PRP is injected into targeted areas of the scalp. PRP is used to support the environment surrounding existing hair follicles and may help improve hair density and thickness in appropriately selected patients.

PRP is often performed as a series of treatments followed by maintenance treatments based on response.

$400 Per Session

1-4 sessions may be required. Sessions are performed 6 weeks apart.

MICRONEEDLING FOR HAIR & SCALP

Controlled microneedling creates tiny microchannels in the scalp and initiates a natural wound-healing response.

For certain types of hair loss, microneedling may be incorporated into a larger hair-restoration protocol and may be paired with other therapies when medically appropriate.

Treatment frequency and combination therapy are customized to the individual.

GHK-Cu: SUPPORTING HAIR & SKIN HEALTH

A copper peptide with regenerative potential

GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper) is a naturally occurring copper-binding peptide found in the human body. It has been studied for its role in tissue remodeling, wound healing, collagen production, and cellular signaling.

Because levels of GHK-Cu naturally decline with age, it has gained attention in regenerative and aesthetic medicine for its potential applications in skin health, scalp health, and hair restoration.

At Forge Cellular Medicine, GHK-Cu may be considered as one component of a comprehensive treatment plan rather than a stand-alone solution.

GHK-CU $100 per vial

GHK-Cu + Hair Health

Healthy hair starts with a healthy follicle and scalp environment.

Laboratory and early clinical research suggests that copper peptides may influence biological processes involved in tissue repair, inflammation, extracellular matrix remodeling, and hair-follicle function. For this reason, GHK-Cu is sometimes incorporated into hair and scalp protocols.

GHK-Cu + Skin Health

GHK-Cu is also widely used in cosmetic skincare because of its potential role in collagen and elastin support, tissue remodeling, and overall skin quality.

As we age, collagen production decreases and the skin gradually becomes thinner, drier, and less resilient. Copper peptides may support processes involved in maintaining the skin's extracellular matrix and natural repair mechanisms.

GHK-Cu may be incorporated into a skin-health program designed to support:

• Skin texture and tone

• Collagen and elastin production

• Skin firmness and elasticity

• Recovery and tissue repair

• Overall skin quality and appearance

TOPICAL & PRESCRIPTION HAIR-LOSS MEDICATIONS

For appropriate patients, prescription treatment can be an important part of slowing progressive hair loss and supporting regrowth.

Options may include:

Minoxidil

Topical or oral minoxidil may be considered to help support the hair-growth cycle and improve density.

Finasteride or Dutasteride

These medications reduce conversion of testosterone to DHT and may be considered for certain patients with androgen-related hair loss.

Spironolactone

For some women with androgen-related thinning, spironolactone may be considered as part of a medical hair-loss treatment plan.

SUPPLEMENTS & NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT

More supplements are not necessarily better.

When nutrition appears to be contributing to hair loss, we focus on correcting identified or suspected deficiencies rather than automatically recommending a long list of products.

Depending on your evaluation, your plan may address:

• Protein intake

• Iron status

• Vitamin D

• B vitamins

• Zinc or other micronutrients when indicated

• Overall nutrition and metabolic health

Our goal is to supplement strategically when there is a reason to do so.

PROFESSIONAL AT-HOME HAIR & SCALP CARE

What you do between appointments matters.

Your personalized home-care plan may include:

• Prescription topical treatments

• Minoxidil-based products

• Scalp serums

• Professional shampoos and conditioners

• Products designed to manage buildup or support scalp health

• Nutritional support

• Hair-care recommendations designed to minimize unnecessary breakage and damage

We can also help simplify your routine so you know what to use, how to use it, and how often to use it.
